Among the things I learned yesterday, the makeup tips provided by the staff of Armani who did my mini makeover were among my favorite since I could incorporate them in my daily life.
First off, the staff member that did me had just done reality TV starlet Heather Bilyeu of Million Dollar Listing, so he has gotta be good cause that girl is beautiful. I forget his name (i’m so sorry!) but he had been working for “Mr. Armani” for over 15 yrs and was under Tim Quinn‘s direction at the makeover session. So now I will pass on a few amazing tips.
1. MOISTURIZE ladies…and no, using a moisturizer is not enough. Moisturizers are topical, meaning they lay on your skin and usually wear away within hours. Serums are the answer, apply 2 drops of a serum in the morning and night and you will be keeping your skin moisturized all day and night to look your best for years to come. Also, even if you are only in your 20’s or 30’s… it is never too early to start caring for your skin. Cause ladies, once those wrinkles get there- there is no makeup or magic (short of surgery) in the world that will erase them. While Armani’s Serum is $195, my recommendation is you want a serum but have a budget (like me!)- Avon has two serums for a oh like 25% of what Armani’s was…and they are having a sale right now…buy one, get one for $12.
2. MOISTURIZE YOUR EYES- BUT NOT WITH THE SAME THING YOU USE ON YOUR FACE. Did you hear me? The skin around your eyes is not the same as the skin on your face, so why treat it that way? The skin around your eyes is way more tender and thinner than that of what covers the rest of your face. This is why finding an eye cream is essential for youthful looking skin…and if you are anything like me, you don’t get as much sleep as you should so your poor eyes suffer. Now this I can say I looked at tons of. My grandmother has possibly the best skin I have ever seen, and despite being 83, most people think she is either late 50’s. She has sworn by Avon’s eye cream not only for the price (I’ve looked..the best that actually works on the market right now is upwards $100-$149) but cause it works. For a limited time, Avon is offering a 2 week Skin Care trial kit WITH A FULL SIZE of their eye system which is 2 parts, one is an illuminator to brighten and the other is the cream. Get it before it goes cause this trial is very limited… the eye system alone is normally $30, so this is a steal!
3. DO NOT USE CONCEALERS WITH A YELLOW UNDERTONE FOR UNDER EYE CIRCLES. Yes, this is like.. the entire market of concealers. When yellow blends with blue or purple… you get something resembling ash. Therefore, it doesn’t work. Also, as the day goes on, our skin produces oils which darken the concealer and/or foundation making us look way more dead than without the concealer. Best bet? For golden undertones- use a peach tone concealer, and for a fairer-blue hue skin undertone, go with pink. The contrast against the dark blues and purples will make them look non-existant. Yellow concealer is best for covering up blemishes as they have a red undertone which the yellow cancels out. My recommendation rather than spending a ton of money on different colored concealers is an all-in one… like Jillian Dempsey’s Professional Corrector Palatte (Light or Dark) on sale at Avon for $5.99. Yes ONLY $5.99, for limited time.
Now, I know I learned all this by using Armani but OMG…when I got a total of what all my makeup would be- ALMOST $500!! I don’t know about you, but that could pay my car, insurance and a bill or two…but makeup? That’s why I am recommending these amazing deals to you (and if you do want to purchase any of the above, email me- as I do sell Avon also and can give discounts depending on order size, or just contact a rep in your area by checking out avon.com). So here is to better makeup! 🙂
