Growing up Latin, there are a few staples in my home. One was there was always a novela playing somewhere- either my abuelos or my mom where watching one. The other- was flan!
Now we are Peruvian, so Flan isn’t traditional for us, but we loved it so it was always in our home. Now with my family, I decided to introduce it with a bit of holiday flair! We decided to make an EggNog Flan. I cannot wait to keep this up with my daughter. My husband has very limited flan experience, but he rocked this!

EggNog Flan
(Serves 8)
Ingredients
Directions
HEAT sugar in small, heavy-duty saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, for 3 to 4 minutes or until dissolved and caramel-colored. Pour onto bottom of 9-inch-round cake pan; quickly swirl around bottom to coat.
PLACE evaporated milk, LA LECHERA, eggs, cinnamon and nutmeg in blender; cover. Blend for 5 seconds. Pour into prepared pan; cover lightly with foil. Place pan in large roasting pan; fill roasting pan with warm water to about 1-inch depth.
BAKE for 1 hour or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Remove flan from water. Cool on wire rack. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.

Yes, I have had Flan before I just cannot remember what flavor. My husband is Portuguese so Flan is a huge in Portugal. I remember when we first met, he made me some. Being from the south, I don’t think I had ever had it before I met him.
