I have been amazingly lucky to meet some pretty amazing women in this field, and Caryn Bailey of Rockin’ Mama is easily one of the best. She is a Lifestyle Mom Blogger and she posts about being a mom in SoCal, creating recipes, adventures with her beautiful family, and stellar pics. My daughter has this interesting habit of sleeping with unusual items in her hand. One day it was a cookie…Last night it was a ball of play dough! While I’m very familiar with children often needing security items to fall asleep with, they’re typically of the stuffed variety.
For months now, my son has been asking for a Pillow Pet. You can’t walk into a store or watch a children’s television program without seeing these adorable, foldable stuffed toys. Originally thought up by San Diego-based mom Jennifer Telfer, Pillow Pets have won several awards including iParenting Media Excellent Product Award and Dr. Toy Best Vacation Product Award. More than a stuffed animal, these toys have a strap that closes to transform the pillow into a pet.
Despite my son’s frequent requests, I wasn’t quite sure what the appeal was. But seeing the snuggly Dalmation Pillow Pet in person and hearing my children fight over it convinced me that I needed to order a second for my daughter. Each Pillow Pet is made of chenille which makes it incredibly soft…perfect for sleeping. Parents will love that these toys/pillows are washable and children will love the fact that they can sleep, travel, and cuddle with their new friend. There are 20 different animals to choose from and each Pillow Pet retails for $24.99.
