Last week I had the chance to head to Hermosa Beach for a couple days to connect with several Toyota execs, the fab Clever Girls and my fellow #ToyotaWomen. You may recall me telling you all about it and then driving the 2012 Camry. So I packed a bag and drove my little Corolla down to Hermosa and got ready to learn all about this amazing car brand I was representing.
When I checked in I eagerly headed to my room and the first thing I checked out, was my bed and my view:
Yea- Um, I live in LA but not close enough to be in THAT every night. I was quite the happy camper.
I got there a little later than I planned (LA traffic- BOOOO) so I had just enough time to change, put some makeup on and run back out to meet the ladies downstairs to head to our “small plate” dinner. I was happy to see my buddy Leila of Don’t Speak Whinese and we chatted with some lovely Toyota ladies- including one that runs the Financial Services Social Media. You heard that right- Toyota Financial Services has a Social Media channel via Twitter where you can tweet- and get answers- about Toyota Financial Services. Being that it’s finances, I can’t imagine that job is easy cause most people don’t like to talk about lots of money… but she was extremely pleasant and very geared toward providing the best support possible.
As the evening ended, a few girls came to my room and we got to know each other over some wine and chit chat. Then around midnight everyone went to their rooms to catch some Zzzs for our full day of Toyota Immersion!
..and a full day it was!
We learned about the many philanthropic efforts of Toyota. Not only are they extremely generous by donating money/cars/sponsorship on a National level, but we found that they also match any of their dealers in a community donation to any community charity. Amazing! Also they also have a number of their own programs like Toyota Tapestry, a program that provides grants to K-12 science teachers, Toyota International Teacher Program, a 2 week exchange program for teachers, and the newest, 100 Cars for Good, which you can watch the video here.
Then we immersed ourselves in product details- about the Prius, the development of Product (5-6 yrs! What!) and lots of things that just reinforced my belief that Toyota was the perfect pick for my daily vehicle. Then we spent some time test driving:
and some time at the Museum
…and then while the majority headed to dinner, I had to make my way back to Los Angeles cause I had a very important date with Ryan Seacrest.
Do you drive a Toyota? How do you feel knowing they give so much back?
