“Oh, those Summer Na-aiiiiiiighhts” Grease for Wii & DiGiorno for Our Family Game Night #CouchCritics #cbias

Every so often my little family and I like to have ourselves a little party. It shows our daughter that daddy and I are still kinda fun, and also, it gets us out of cooking for a night because we tend to order some take-out or something. Usually we go for a movie or just vegging out, but I decided to check out Redbox online to see if they had anything great out. And guess what? They had Grease the Game for Wii! Now I am a musical theater nut, my husband, not so much but my daughter takes after me, so guess who won that battle?

I immediately reserved it online, and within seconds got a confirmation in my email inbox and my daughter and I got ready to go pick up the game. I noticed this great promo on Redbox: http://www.redboxamoe.com/ where you can text daily to win a prize, and they are giving stuff out everyday in April. I’ll be sure to enter next time because we were in a hurry to get our game night on!  We also wanted to get everything done in one shot so we headed to Sam’s Club to see what they had to offer a family that was eager for fun, but not so eager to make dinner. Of course, as any mom does, while I was there I picked up more necessities.

But I found what I wanted…perfect for our game night with Grease! The DiGiorno Pizza Party which not only contained 2 pizzas, but cheesy bread and chocolate chip cookies! Yum.

Then my daughter and I grabbed some more things we needed and headed for checkout. While I absolutely love Sam’s Club, the waits can suck at the check out. They are ALWAYS busy. So, I usually have to bribe my not so patient kiddo with a coloring book or something. This time she picked a huge princess one, so yay…and the line moved faster than normal. We paid up and left, and grabbed our game in a very very busy redbox, so luckily I had reserved online, and it was so easy. As soon as I grabbed it, I received an email:

We headed home and got ready for our game night.

The game was perfect for our almost 5 yr old little girl. She was able to follow easily and she enjoyed dancing around to songs mommy used to sing nonstop. Even my hubs got into it.

We figured out the game fairly quickly, and while we didn’t play more than a few songs- it seemed like a nice game for a little girl. Hubs liked it but got bored quick and me…well, it was ok.

On a couch rating, I personally would give the game a 3. Because the songs are fun, but you get bored quick unless you are 4-5 like my daughter. The important and fun part for us, was that we had a great time eating some delicious pizza and staying in as a family- that’s what game night really is about. That sounds like so much fun! I absolutely love Grease and me and my hubby eat DiGiorno all the time. We will have to check out that game for our kids.

  3. And the beauty of a cheap rental vs buying the game. It’s a great try it before you buy it at $60 option!

I love Redbox! The only time we rent movies nowadays is when we have a free rental code (first 24 hours are free) from Redbox. If you sign up, they’ll text you a code once a month. We don’t have a Wii, but my sis and her family do. I’m gonna have to mention this game to them. That would be so much fun for us. I imagine our toddlers will enjoy it, too.
