I am about to do something I never thought I would do. Like. EVER.
I am about to post a picture of the destruction that is my daughter’s bedroom…in all it’s drawn on, messy, toys everywhere glory. It’s just…bad.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
...yea... she loves her "paintings"
I told you so!
When I moved into this place- my daughter was about 2 and 1/2. The man and I had been separated a few months at this point- so it was totally me and her for a few months. Well- let’s just say she is a budding artiste and often when I was cooking, cleaning, doing something other than hover over her in her room- well- she was “decorating.” Add that to the fact that she is an only child and gets showered with gifts from us, grandma, Tia, and more… well…that makes for a lot of ”my favorite toys” and you get that disaster there. Also- mini blinds and cats? NO BUENO. Cats break blinds. When three fight over a window it kills several at once. Sigh.
So when I was contacted by Lowe’s to be part of their Creative Ideas for Home bloggers… I had to say because if anything could give me a push to get that room in order to be fit for a princess, it was that. Of course, what does someone do when they need a room re-do? I took to Pinterest! I created a board of ideas of how I wanted Sofia’s room to look. My goal is to go from this:
to a combo of this…

with a little…

Yea. Also- keep it under $300 and ok with my landlord. So we chose a few easy fixes, all available at Lowe’s and easy to do.
- Paint (soft pink and soft purple)
- Closet Organizer (yes please god… ORGANIZER)
- Curtains (hate mini blinds- so do my cats)
- Toss a bunch of toys away while she is at school (this one is the hardest)
Did I do it? Well… you’ll just have to come back and check now wontcha! In the meantime, check out Lowe’s on Facebook, Pinterest or their Lowe’s Creative Ideas Blog. By the way- did you know they also have an app for Ipads? Check it out HERE.

Disclosure: I am a member of the Lowe’s Creative Ideas Creators and Influencers Network and received a gift card for supplies toward my project. All opinions are 100% my own.

My guest room/office/scrapbooking room. It is a lot of things and does none of them very well…
Definitely my family room.
If money was no object at all, my kitchen. Everything in there is about 23 years old (literally looked in the microwave and there was a date “September 1989″… the rest may just be old… it was there before I bought the house) except maybe the wallpaper which has a style that appears way older and that baby blue matte paint is not meant for kitchens.
