Have you ever had an experience where you look back and you think, Wow- I was really a part of that? Well I just did! This past weekend I was whisked to New York City to have a full one Avengers filled weekend, and the focus was the Tribeca Film Festival.
The Tribeca Film Festival was closing out the event with a final night screening of The Avengers. As part of the event, they were also honoring real heroes and it seemed only fitting that this all took place in New York. Several service men and women attended the screening, and got to walk the red carpet.
The cast of The Avengers was also there, and each took time to meet these amazing real life heroes.
Oh, remember that video I shared about the little boy who gets a birthday surprise from his military dad dressed as Captain America? They were there too!
Now, I live in LA- celebrity sightings are nothing out here- but being among these amazing actors had me star struck. I was so happy to see that they truly loved their fans and that they were as honored to be among real heroes as I was. In fact, when the cast was introduced before the film, Robert Downey, Jr. asked the heroes to stand and he wanted to thank them for their service. The whole room stood and applauded so loudly, you couldn’t hear what he was saying.
It was heartwarming and emotional to be in the presence of such amazing people. I felt it was the perfect tie in with the film. A superhero movie for super heroic people.
Check out some pics of me on the red carpet below and stay tuned for my interviews with Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Cobie Smulders (SHIELD Agent Maria Hill) and my review of The Avengers!
