I was never aware of sun damage or sun burning, being a latina, I always assumed I didn’t need sunscreen because I never burned. Minus once, when I was 14 and had been under the 105 degree sun ALL DAY, I never burned. Lucky? Maybe- but the more I researched skin care (thanks in part to reviewing skin care items), the more I realized how wrong I had been thinking I wasn’t at risk for not just sunburns or sun damage but also for skin cancer. So I started to use sunscreen as part of my morning routine- or added a moisturizer that included sunscreen (minimum SPF 30). But, already having olive toned skinned, which was golden even in the winter, I found a lot of sunblocks gave me a very ashy, discolored look. While I wanted to protect my skin, I didn’t want to look washed out.

Artistry by Amway understands that woman have different needs, and they created a sunblock that works not only for Latinas like me, but also for women of all skin tones.

New ARTISTRY® TIME DEFIANCE® UV Defense SPF 50, exclusively from Amway, not only protects skin from sun damage, it also helps reduce the appearance of existing dark spots, discolorations, and redness. We have a high concern for skin cancer, as we just found out 4 1/2 wks ago that my husband has Lentigo Maligna (skin cancer) and had to have a surgery on his leg. After viewing the results, they had not gotten it all out & he had to go back in for another surgery last Wednesday & they took about 3cm out of the back of his calf. I really big chunk & a 4-5 inch scar that is still healing. His mother has had 2 skin cancer surgeries in the last 5 years too. I guess that’s a common problem for those who grew up in Southern California & were unaware of all the damage that could later rear it’s ugly head. I slather my 3 yr old son with so much sunscreen he could go for days. haha.
