My Favorite Memories of My Husband Being a Father

I can still remember the day we found out we were having a little girl.

The ultrasound tech looked at us and said, “well, it looks like you are having a beautiful little girl!” I looked at my husband and there was this joy in his eyes that I had never seen before. It was right then, he fell in love with his little girl. The day she was born, I remember watching him with her. He was this whole new man, and even in this picture below, you can see how tender, protective and the love he had right that second for her.

Over the years, I have watched the guy I fell in love with at the age of 21, turn into this amazing, wonderful father.

Some of my favorite memories just involve simple things…like watching him play with her in the front yard, or kissing a boo boo away for her, or watching his glee when she learned how to swim. All these moments, I have captured on my camera because really, how cute is that? My daughter is growing up fast, in fact she is off to kindergarten in September. For this father’s day, I want to give my husband a look back at all the reasons why he is such an amazing father, and to see the bond that he and our daughter have formed in her almost 5 years.

I’m giving him the gift of memories- a calendar of pictures of he and our baby girl over the years. I have them on my phone, computer, even on Facebook- but these memories belong somewhere where he can look at them and melt the way he always does when he hears her say “I Love you Daddy.”
