In these early days of summer, I start to think of ways to have something delicious, quick and something that does not involve turning on my oven. In my family, this means smoothies! I headed to my local Safeway Affiliate store- Vons, to pick up some key ingredients I would need to make my latest inspiration, Tropical Smoothies.

When I got there, as I looked through the dairy aisle for staples in our home such as Sargento String Cheese, Danimals Yogurt Drinks, and Silk Almond Milk, I noticed each item had a “June Dairy Month” tag attached to them. I asked an employee what that meant exactly and she told me that if in the month of June, I bought $40 worth of certain qualifying items, I would receive a voucher for 2 movie tickets to see Ice Age: Continental Drift. Woo hoo! Being a Vons Just for You member- a lot of the stuff that was part of the June Dairy Month promotion was on sale- score for us!
I grabbed a ton of items and was ready to make my family a delicious, healthy smoothie (I added some Reddi-whip to make it more fun!). I decided to really play on the summer tastes and went tropical. I especially enjoy Easy Home Meals that I can make on a whim like this. You can find more Easy Home Meal recipes on the Easy Home Meal website and Facebook Page.
