This is the summer before Sofia starts school (kindergarten in just over 2 weeks *sniff sniff*) and we were determined to spend this time to be together as a family as often as we could. Sofia is at day camp while my husband and I work during the day. Summer evenings have been ear marked as “our time” and when we all get home, we’ll step into our front yard, where my husband built Sofia a swing, and we grill and enjoy the cool summer breeze that travels through the valley at the end of the day.
I sit and watch as my daughter discovers new things she can do- like climb a tree, or make water balloons- and see my husband at ease in front of his grill or chasing our daughter and her friends as the resident daddy monster. While sipping on my current Hansen’s Natural Soda flavor of choice (ahem- Mango Orange) that I have packed the cooler with, I smile and take a mental picture of these last few days before my only baby starts her education and begins discovering things without us. Things that we once knew too but have forgotten like so many things from childhood are when being a grown up takes over.
As I watch my family, I relax from my stresses of the day. The budgeting and paying of bills, already far from my head as my daughter runs to me in half breaths, full of smiles and giggles. I hand her a glass with some ice I just brought out for us, grab a Cherry Vanilla Creme from the cooler for her. She then begins to tell me about daddy chasing her, or about her camp trip that day or something other fun piece of info about her day. Minutes later my husband comes with our meals prepped, and I grab a Root Beer for him out of the cooler next to me. We’ll sit out in the front yard on our small patio set and enjoy our drinks and meals. We’ll talk, joke and just enjoy the end of the day together.

These drinks called Hansens are so delicious! My family loves these! They flavors are crisp and refreshing! I like that I can have one of these all natural sodas without having fake sugar and caffeine!
