How to Dare to Bare Those Underarms this Season #DoveBeauty

This post is sponsored by Dove® ClearTone™ Deodorant – designed to visibly reduce underarm dark marks and even skin tone.

I know it’s happened to you.

You’re at a dinner, a classroom, a baseball game, the beach…anywhere…and you are having a good time. Suddenly someone calls out or it’s time for a cheer or the DJ yells out “Throw your hands up!” And it happens. You raise your arms only to throw them back down again because of embarrassment. Irritated, dark underarms are not sexy. So what are you to do when summer hits and you want to wear that strappy dress or cool tank top? Being an L.A. girl, I have to wonder this practically all year long (hello 90 degrees in December). So here are some tried and true tips that I have used over the years.

Dare to Bare Tips

  • Exfoliate! Your face isn’t the only thing on your body that needs to rid itself of dead skin cells. All the dead cells under your arm can prevent painful ingrown hairs and excess bacteria build up (cause smelling good is key too!).
  • Get a close smooth shave. The best way to do this is to make sure you use a good razor with a moisturizing strip. Try to opt out of disposables and invest in a quality razor with blades you can change regularly. The blades are better encased than disposables and that helps prevent nicks and red bumps.
  • Never shy on dry skin. While I think most of us know not to, I also know in a pinch, some of us may try this. As I said above, your underarms dry up really fast and there is no quicker road to icktown than irritating that tender skin by shaving dry.

As an addition to help you keep those underarms bare-able, you can use Dove Clear Tone Deodorant which helps reduce the darkness of your underarms…try it combined with my tips above and you will want to show off those pits. Don’t do it too often, cause then people will just think you’re weird…not that I would know or anything.
