This past week I was away at a blogging conference. Those of you not in this space probably think we just all sit around and, well, blog while at this conference when the truth is we do everything BUT actually blog. There are parties and meetings and sessions and dressing up and…well, you get it. You gotta look good all day long. My crisis arose when I realized I was out of not only my concealer stick, but makeup remover and eyeshadow!! Eeek… time to remedy that.
What I usually do before I go away for a few days for work is make sure my household is taken care of. That means I do my grocery shopping and Target shopping the day before I leave. I don’t know about you…but I could seriously live in Target. It’s like this magical place where I go in intending to spend $10 and come out spending $100. So going in before a trip is always interesting.

It’s like the universe shining it’s light on Target. Or, that I shop in the evenings.
This time though, I had 2 goals- get the household stuff and get my skin care and beauty needs for my trip. You see, I am VERY particular. I have had the same beauty regimen for years: wash, tone, eye cream, serum, moisturizer w/ SPF, concealer, powder, lipstick, a dash of gloss and done. If I have more time, I play with makeup colors and choices. Target to me, is the happiest place on earth. It’s where I can get all my needs and get away for a bit. It’s my chi. So when I go…even if I have a list:

I still peruse and see just what is in store. (You can see my shopping trip HERE)

$100+ later…
Lately I have been more than obsessed with skin care products and makeup. So it’s been my weekly standby to go and see what is on sale. The e.l.f. make up always caught my eye and since I was traveling, I checked it out to see just what would go with my conference attire. What I found was that not only do they have my everyday beauty needs available…but they are budget friendly and have a variety of colors.

I decided to try pretty much the full line. I grabbed the makeup remover towelettes and the Makeup Setter Mist cause I was heading into East Coast humidity and staying up late where washing my face, though much needed, would more than likely be forgotten. I also grabbed some fun shimmery pastel color eye shadow, clear brow and lash mascara, lip liner, lip color a few brushes and god.. well, maybe I cleaned them out.
So the time came to put all these to the test. I packed them up and jet setted my way to New York. I used the makeup remover within hours and wow, it was AMAZING. The mist while it did work while I was indoors, once it got hit by the NYC humidity, didn’t do too well. But the makeup? Well… you tell me.

Lookin’ good right? Since I have been home, I have been incorporating e.l.f. into my daily routines and I have to say… it has added some oomph to my once boring routine. With the low prices, I have been back to pick up more colors to use and been trying them out almost daily. I think I may have found my new obsession…move over Target (I’m kidding! Maybe).
Make sure you check out e.l.f cosmetics via their website, or on Facebook and Twitter.

Great post!! I LOVE e.l.f. makeup too!!!
You make me smile oh great one with “No Feeling” in you feet! Enjoyed the article of “E l f”!
NYC was so much fun. You’re looking good at the Hasbro party!
I have yet to try ELF cosmetics, although I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I think ELF compliments you very well, love the red lipstick on you. Glad you all had a great time here, hope my tow (NYC) treated you well. =)
I am very faithful to another line of cosmetics that are not available at mass merchandise stores; but I absolutely love, love what I where and am very OCD about my skin care routine and make up. After reading this blog about ELF, I may have to give it a try. It looks great on you, your red lips “pop”, and if the price is right it will be on my list! Thanks for blogging about this product line!
I am entering your Keurig giveaway. I have tried to win one since they came out. I really don’t need a new coffee maker so I can’t justify the money. I really had to laugh at this article about the e.l.f. Cosmetics. I am a makeup junkie. I guess you could say it my hobby. For some reason though I don’t have very much e.l.f. makeup. I know it will not break the bank. Your article made me want to try more of it. I am sort of picky about foundation but now I think I will try theirs. Thank you for sharing your experience. Shirley
