People wear sunglasses for many reasons. Typically, it’s to keep the sun out of our eyes so we don’t have a squinty face all day long. I also like to glam up a little (this is LA after all) and my daughter- well make it pink or glittery and she will wear it regardless of what the use is. Yes, the UV/UB blocking benefits are helpful too… but let’s be real. If sunglasses don’t look good- we would never wear them, no matter how much protection they gave you.
The man’s version of looking good is to compare himself to one of the guy all time favorite movies of like EVER. That’s right… he wants to be a dude in Top Gun. Sigh.
When I was contacted by Kate Reese, an online shop for eyewear carrying name brands at awesome prices, I called him over to check out their selection. I opened the page, and like the typical guy he is, instead of looking at the page- our conversation went like this
Him (not even glancing at the page cause I apparently do all the shopping, even his): Um, do they have Top Gun shades?
Me: You mean Aviators?
Him: Is that what they wore? Cause they looked awesome, and maybe I can fly a plane if I got those too.
Me: Yes they do. And uh. No.
Him: (sad puppy face)
Me: Will you be satisfied if I played Danger Zone while you wore them driving once?
Him: DEAL.
So while we ultimately we didn’t get Aviators…we did get a pair of Ray-Ban’s. Ordering on Kate Reese was super easy too. You could search by category: Mens, Womens, Kids, and Sunglasses (cause they sell regular eyewear too!) and then either by price and/or brand name. The prices? Super reasonable for being names like Dolce & Gabana, Prada, Coach, Burberry, Ray-Ban, and more! Each frame specifies sizes in Small, Medium and Large and they also have the exact measurements right there for you to make sure they will fit. I cannot tell you how many times one of us has gotten way too small frames and then have those indents around our noses. Not a pretty sight.
