My daughter began school this year. I had always thought we would have til September to get ready, and we could do a mini trip to not only commemorate her 5th birthday, but also to kiss summer goodbye. But LA threw me for a loop and started school on August 14th. Still not ready to let go of our summer family time, I have taken to getting my daughter and take drives just as the sun is setting. Sometimes we just go get ice cream…but most times, I give her a little treat, like Hansen’s Natural Soda… and we drive…and sing.
Sofia and I have very similar taste in music (she takes after me!) and we love musicals, string pop vocalists and uh, Glee. Also, we have similar taste in drinks… for example here is my take along:
and here she is with her pick:
We both chose Hansen’s Natural Soda in Mandarin Lime. YUM! I am not the type of mom that hands her child a soda easily. But I know that Hansen’s is made from real cane sugar and isn’t full of high fructose corn syrup or loaded on caffeine. It is a perfect treat and sweet snack for a summer evening…especially for our little road adventures.
While we can’t take off on vacation or beach trips… we still have our mini mommy/daughter getaways just by hanging out in the car and singing our hearts out. I especially like to take her just as the sun has gone down, because in L.A. that’s when you roll your windows down, blast some music and feel the summer breeze as you sing your heart out. It’s something I have loved to do every year, and now, it’s something I can share with my daughter.
Memories are created whenever you can make them, and for my daughter and I, we’ll always have summer nights…and Hansen’s Natural Soda.
To make Hansen’s part of your family time, make sure you follow them on Facebook and Twitter for all their latest news and info.

Our school system through us for a loop as well only they started August 16. I have a Senior in high school, a 7th grader going to the Junior high and my baby is a 5th grader at the elementary school. Three boys + three schools = one very tired mama!
I love natural sodas! I buy the Mexican Coke and Jarritos because they use real sugar and not HFCS. Glad to be introduced to another new brand! thanks!
i would feel better about my child drinking this
