You may remember, in June we started our outdoor transformation with the addition of a rope swing made by the man for our little one to enjoy this summer. Which she LOVED:
As do a few other kids in the complex. It’s become a bit of a play area now, which is great. My daughter has made little friends thanks to that addition. I also wanted to give him a little something to say thanks for building the awesome swing, and since Father’s Day was in July, I took him to Lowe’s where he got to choose a grill of his own. He really took his time too, but wanted to make sure it was economical, durable and would work for our family of 3. He decided on a Char-Broil 2 Burner Gas Grill.
But despite the addition of the swing, the small bistro set and the grill- I felt it needed just one more touch. I like to enjoy the summer evenings, sipping on some wine sitting on our bistro set and relaxing. Sometimes it gets way too dark but I don’t want to turn on the porch light as it would just take away from that beautiful summer night setting. So I decided to make my own lanterns out of mason jars.
Mason Jar Lanterns
- Mason Jars
- Sand
- Tea Candles
- Bendable Wire (not pictured, I used a Nylon thin rope- wire is safer)
Directions
- Wrap wire around head of jar
- Create a handle and attach to the wire around the head
- Fill jar with sand to level you like
- Insert Tea Candle slowly in the middle and push down
- Hang or place on table and light!
Not too shabby right?
