Mi Best Buy Celebrates #MiCultura

Have you ever heard that song “Nobody Walks in L.A.”? Cause I remember listening to it long ago and thinking well, I walk. But then again, I was a kid without a license. Now that I’m all grown up, with a child, and errands and responsibilities…well, I kinda live in my car. What keeps me going all those hours driving around (in traffic) besides coffee is music. It’s true, I am one of those people you see singing and bopping along in their car. I am a lover of all kinda of music, but being Latina, I need something that has a rhythm and beat. We don’t have too many Latin stations here, well not ones that would play the variety I was used to growing up. But lucky for me, Sirius XM has an amazing selection and it was available at my local Best Buy.

When I walked in, the reps were very attentive… even leading me to the exact location the Sirius XM radios were. I had no less than 3 employees ask me if I needed help and to ask any questions. I don’t make purchases lightly so I made sure to check out everything about Sirius XM. I was happily surprised to see that Sirius was celebrating Latinos by both having more Latin stations, but that the signage itself was bilingual.

When I gathered all my items, we ran into some trouble because they were out of the $50 Sirius XM gift card I wanted to purchase. But the employee was amazing and called three different stores to not only find me a card, but get it to the store in time for when my car was done having Sirius installed. As he was searching for my gift card, a couple walked up and he asked what he could do for them as he was on hold on a call for me. They immediately spoke to him in Spanish and he proceeded to answer them in Spanish. A minute later, he called another employee over to assist the couple and that employee also spoke perfect Spanish. It should be no surprise that Best Buy has over 1,000 stores in the US with Spanish-speaking sales associates in more than 300 locations. Just visit your local store and ask for a Spanish speaking associate, they are always there to help!

I was moved to the installation area and the Geek Squad tech employee asked me a couple short questions and gave me a time to return. So I wandered around, had some lunch and he called to say my car was done…they were early even! After a quick demo of how my new Sirius XM worked, he assured me I could call if anything happened or it wasn’t working for some reason. Thankfully, I didn’t and I was ready to try my new radio!

In the car…

…and at home

Being that this is Hispanic Heritage Month, there is currently special interviews and programming. Univision has lots of these and thankfully Sirius XM has the Hulu Plus channel which offers Univision. I know my grandmother will love that station. She may be asking me for rides more often now… so don’t mind us if you see us bopping along the freeway… that’s just Sirius blasting.
