I have lived in the same apartment for almost 3 yrs. When I first moved in, my husband and I were separated and my daughter was only two. I only needed a one bedroom, in my price range in a neighborhood I liked. I saw this apartment complex and fell in love. It was small to not be filled with strangers yet separated enough that we had our own little space. As my daughter grew, and my husband and I reunited, the one bedroom became cramped. She had always had the bedroom and I had separated the large living room into a half bedroom/half living room. Three years later I yearned for our own room, a small office space, and just something…different. But I didn’t want to leave my complex, that… that was still perfect.
At the beginning of October one of the only two bedrooms opened up, by mid October we were scheduled to move in, which left pretty much about a week to pack, clean, and move. Oh and I was also on two press trips and lest we forget Halloween, school parties and kid activities. October. Was. Busy.
Since we hadn’t planned on moving and now we were moving in less than 2 weeks, I needed help…and fast. Lucky for me, Lowe’s is not just your average home improvement store. No.. no. They have literally EVERYTHING.
While most of my Lowe’s posts involve me creating or redoing something, I just have to say… Lowe’s saved me. We had no boxes, no tape, no dolly (we didn’t need a truck since we were just moving units), not to mention all the cleaning supplies needed to clean our old home and get our new home ready for us.
Here is a list of items I bought to use on our big move:
…and for cleaning
- Shop Towels (seriously- I will never use regular paper towels again. Best things EVER)
- Swiffer 3 pack Starter Set
- Trash Bags
- Mr. Clean’s Extra Power Magic Eraser (a god send for anyone with little “artists”)
- Lysol Disinfectant Wipes
…and this is for both taking things apart and putting things back together
