Growing up Latina, there wasn’t to many female celebrities I saw that I related to look-wise. So when the time came for me to start making all my beauty decisions, I went with colors and products that weren’t essentially a good fit for me. It took me a very long time to come into my own in the hair and skin realm. Lots of research, money spent and horrible hair days. Last month, I was invited to a pampering session by CVS Beauty to try out their newest addition to their product line: Salma Hayek’s Nuance.
The Salma Hayek line was inspired by Salma’s grandmother a cosmetologist who developed homemade beauty remedies. Salma considers Nuance to be an embodiment of her rich family heritage and beauty secrets she has acquired over her years of traveling around the world. The Nuance products price range is economical, ranging between 2.99-19.99 and includes: Skincare, Cosmetics, Haircare and Body Care.
So now let’s go back to me, ahem. Salma was one of the first Latina starlets I could look toward and say “that’s what I want to wear…my skin looks like hers, my hair is her color!” So I was so excited to get to try out this line. At the pampering session they used the Anti-frizz serum combined with the curl cream. I was so digging my hair. Soft, wispy romantic curls surrounded me, instead of the frizzoid I am used to. When I got home, I immediately put the shampoo and conditioner to the test.
OK. I am used to buying my frou frou shampoo that costs me about $30/bottle just so my mane is clean and maintained. However, I gave Nuance a try and let me tell you, I am loving it! Not only does my hair look nourished, but it’s manageable and smells divine. I still don’t leave home without dabbing some anti-frizz serum. Salma- my hair is yours now.
Next up, the skincare line. You all know I am very very very picky about my skin and what goes on it. But since Nuance had sold me on it’s hair, I hoped it would do the same for it’s skin care. Again, I was pleasantly surprised by the Nuance line. It worked like a charm, although I was not too pleased with the scent in the Eye Treatment. It works great- but the scent just was a little off to me, otherwise the product line was perfect. I highly recommend the Brightening Hand Cream. Smells and feels amazing!
Nuance Cosmetics is something I look forward to trying out. I got the four nail lacquers above and I have really only gotten the chance to play with a couple. Both were fun and had staying power of about 4-5 days on average before you started seeing some light chipping. Currently, the nail lacquer is available in over 30 colors. With names like Blue Azul, Cayennem Sangria and more… I am sure this line will be HOT.
Salma Hayek’s Nuance product line has converted me. I love that they come with a genuine heritage and the line caters to women everywhere. Nuance products are sold in CVS’s everywhere…go out and try something today!
