Beach, a Manicure and Cookies = ME! Time #QuakerEpicAdventures

My daughter is almost 6 years old, and she is at that stage where every question has a bazillion questions attached and more than half I don’t know the answer to. She’s a total joy but doesn’t understand the meaning of “shhhh.” My husband is a good man, and he makes me laugh but somedays… I just want a few moments to myself just to enjoy not talking…to anyone. Or tweeting. Or emailing. Or instagramming. Mommy needs a break.

I have a full and busy life so I find little ways to escape. Luckily, I live in Sunny SoCal and the beach is only moments away.

A couple weeks ago, work was getting to me, my daughter had just gotten over a cold and my husband was stressing over getting a promotion at work. I think I was “on” for 20 hours a day for like a week. When everything settled (and he got the promotion!!), I grabbed a bag, threw in a box of delicious Quaker Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies and decided to go to the beach. On the way, I saw my nail place was empty so I stopped in for a quick mani.

Oh the joy of just reading a trashy magazine while someone massages my hand and paints my nails! When it was done, I made my way to the beach for just an hour or so and I felt so invigorated and ready to handle everything again.

Quaker® Chocolate Chip Cookies allow me to be indulgent while still providing the power of Quaker® oats to fuel me for whatever the rest of the day might hold.
