Berry Picking In Los Angeles #DisneyStory

My daughter is an active, intelligent little girl and always looking to learn about life around her. Lately it’s been question after question after question…

“Mommy, why is the sky blue?”

“Mommy, why do apples grow on trees?”

“Mommy, where does lettuce come from?”

“Mommy, why can’t I be a strawberry?”

She is definitely entertaining. One weekend rather than tell her answers, I wanted to show her. Her latest curiousity was about her food so I though the perfect solution was to take her to pick her own berries. We headed to Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark. Just a 45 minute drive from us, it is an actual working farm but it was also open to the public for veggie, fruit and berry picking. I had heard about the farm from a few other parents, and they all highly recommended it. Not only is it great for picking, but they have a children’s park, pony rides, a wagon and more. Sofia was amazed…in fact, so were we! My husband discovered a love for boysenberries and we discovered just how amazing berries were fresh off the vine. We can’t wait to go back again.

Check out our day and how I documented it using the Disney Story app.

It’s always fun to show kids where food really comes from. Good idea.

Aww what wonderful quality time! These are some of the best memories I still remember from my childhood, berry picking with my mom, aunts, and cousins!

Your daughter sounds just like mine! Question after question, just so curious! Berry picking is a summer activity I’d never even considered, what a wonderful idea 🙂
