I never learn. Even when they signs are there, I ignore and eventually it happens…I get sick. My daughter is six, and yet when she sees me feeling bad, she immediately goes into action. Offering me juice, rest and soup, my daughter is a natural at kid doctor. I think she may have picked it up from her love of Doc McStuffins and I love how aware she is of not only how to care for others, but how to care for herself.
I love to enhance this side of her, not only because I think it’s wonderful that she loves role playing as a doctor, but also because of the values Doc McStuffins teaches all kids. Doc cares for her friends, family, she is kind and thoughtful, smart and analytical and never lets anything get in her way. All great things for kids to mimic. To take her imagination and fuel this a little further, there are two great toys geared to the Doc fans in your life.
Sofia couldn’t wait to try them out. We tore the boxes open and quickly assembled her Doc McStuffins Doctor’s Bag Set and the Doc McStuffins Doctor’s Dress Up Set. To say the complete look was adorable is an understatement.
She immediately went into action. As I said, I have been sick since returning home from being away for almost 2 weeks on business. Sofia opened up her doctor bag and checked my heart (sounds OK mommy!), gave me a shot (now you’ll feel better!) and gave me a sticker (cause you were a good patient!). Her medical curiosity didn’t end there. Apparently we had several patients that needed attending to at home. Like…our cats.
Sofia is becoming more aware of things we all can do to take care of ourselves. Her first task to me? “Mommy, you need to stay home and not fly for a little while and eat vegetables!” Guess I gotta follow doctor’s orders! I wonder if it will work for her…
