This past weekend I was given AT&T’s new Pantech Vybe mobile phone, which is a great phone for tweens and as we prepare for the new school year. In my opinion, the The Pantech Vybe is a good first phone. The messaging feature is very easy to use. I remember when I had my first phone. It was very important that I kept my mom up to date with what I was doing after school. We mostly used text. I really liked the Vybe’s slide out text feature. I find it a lot easier to type on buttons than on a touch-tone screen.
The Vybe takes pretty decent pictures too. I got a chance to play around with the camera over the weekend. On Friday night we went to the Getty Museum for their Friday Flights program and I discovered areas that I didn’t even know existed. It was a fantastic experience. I took a couple pictures for you all to see. The phone fit in my pocket perfectly and it was very easy and convenient to use the camera option.
On Saturday I went to Lionsgate and saw a screening for the film Cantinflas. The star of the movie Oscar Jaenada was there to surprise us. I also got a couple of pictures of him with the phone. Again, it was super easy to carry and snap away quickly. The phone is also pretty durable and withstood an evening out with family friends and an entire day at Knotts Berry Farm. I’ll also be using this soon when I visit Six Flags Magic Mountain this coming week! I think it will be pretty cool to be there and see Pantech throughout the park since Pantech Mobile and AT&T will be hosting promotional days around the It Can Wait campaign, where park attendees can experience a Texting & Driving Simulator and take the pledge to not text and drive. AT&T retail stores will provide coupons for a $13 discount off admission to Six Flags Over Georgia in the Southeast markets, and a $20 discount off admission to Six Flags Magic Mountain in the greater LA area. Pantech Mobile supports AT&T’s It Can Wait® campaign to end texting and driving. To take the pledge and see a list of supporters, visit www.ItCanWait.com. I had a nice weekend and did lots of fun things and the Pantech Vybe was a good phone to have with me. The call quality and battery life are the best things about the phone. I didn’t experience one delay nor did my battery run low all weekend long. So your tween can never say they didn’t hear you or their battery ran out!
Mom’s Note: At first, when we got the phone, I didn’t think my son would like it. It wasn’t the name brand everyone wants but after spending time with it, the ease of use and the quality it produced really stood out to us. I like that I don’t have to worry about overage charges and that I can talk to him when I need to. He likes the freedom is gives him (well, moderated freedom) and now, he wants to go buy it to keep. Overall, it’s a great starter phone and I recommend it to parents of tweens and teens everywhere.
