Director Bryan Singer knows exactly how to get fans in a frenzy over the upcoming X-men Apocalypse, which is currently filming in Montreal. He recently shared on set pics via his Instagram of his new take on X-Men’s Jubilee and Jean Grey. In Apocalypse we get to continue the clean slate world established in X-Men Days of Future Past and while several of the main players return, we are getting an amazing new cast that includes Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner as Jean and newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee. See what they look like in this upcoming expansion to the X-Men franchise after the jump.
Definitely a heavy 80’s feel. The iconic yellow jacket is there! Turner is rockin’ the side swept red hair. She looks awesome as Jean and if Dark Sansa on Game of Thrones is any indication, it will be exciting to see her eventually go all Phoenix.
The tone of the film is set to bring the story into the next era as each one has before it. This image shows the two new leads starting off very young and doing teen mutant things like mall shopping. Who knows if we’ll catch up on Scott and Nightcrawler (also played by new cast member Kodi Smitt-McPhee) playing in the arcade.
Also in the new cast: Alexandra Shipp is Storm, Tye Sheridan is Cyclops, Olivia Munn is Psylock, Ben Hardy is Angel and Oscar Issac will be playing Apocalypse. They join returning cast members Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor X, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Lucas Till as Havok, Jennifew Lawrence as Mystique (this will be her last film in the franchise), Nicolas Hoult as Beast and Rose Byrne is back as Moira MacTaggert.
Are you excited to see the rest of the cast filled out?
X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27, 2016.
