I didn’t grow up on the usual bacon and eggs, or waffles for breakfast. My grandmother was the one who got us ready for school, and she believed in starting the day with a delicious breakfast: jugos, pan dulces, chicharon, camote frito and avena con canela. These are the things I didn’t realize until I was much older, that what I considered a normal breakfast, many considered to be unlike any other. Now that I create breakfast and snacks for my family, I wanted to give my family that same experience that I remember. But, let’s be real here – I do not have the time nor the kitchen savvy that my abuelita does, but, luckily, I do have a secret weapon on my side!
Since it’s fall, and so close to Dia de los Muertos, I have been buying pan dulce regularly, but that isn’t enough for a great breakfast. That’s where noosa® yoghurt comes to the rescue.
noosa® yoghurt comes from a picturesque beach town of the same name off Australia’s Sunshine Coast, where it’s co-founder had her first taste of the creamy yoghurt, and began an obsession to bring it to the States (where she was living). After finding the perfect partner, the company sourced milk locally in Colorado from family farms located within an hour of Bellvue where noosa is made on-site.
The farm fresh, creamy yoghurt is infused with a touch of clover alfalfa honey, which makes it definitely stand out. I was sent several flavors to try, but my favorites were: vanilla, coconut, and pumpkin. They were so so good! I knew that noosa would make a perfect stand alone side to the pan dulce I like to serve. It was thick & rich, velvety and smooth. My tastebuds were dancing with every spoonful of noosa.
My daughter loved the bright fruit flavor of her favorite: noosa blueberry yoghurt, which she would have in between bites of her favorite pan dulce, conchitas.
It’s rare that I get to find something that makes creating an experience as easy as reaching into my fridge, but noosa does just that, with a pairing that combines a little piece of my childhood, our culture and Aussie yumminess- it’s a pairing that’s unlike any other.
Now you can give noose yoghurt a try too: check where it’s available near you via their locator and then use downloadable coupon for noosa yoghurt. Let me know if you try it, I’d love to hear your pairings!
