So you know how I mentioned before that I had never been to Walt Disney World? Well, as part of the press trip to Orlando we got to check out EVERY SINGLE PARK at Walt Disney World and it was a DREAM. Our first park was Disney’s Animal Kingdom where they had lots of fun and surprises planned for us. Let me tell you guys something, being on that park felt like I was transported to a whole different world. Every little detail was carefully thought out and really embodied what an Animal Kingdom is supposed to be.
We kicked off our visit with a quick photo opp by the Tree of Life.
Isn’t that stunning? Up close there are way more details like animals carved in the tree, and if you follow it down, you get taken to a very special Bug’s Life 3D show. It is so cute and I highly recommend checking it out.
Also, when in the animal kingdom, you gotta take a safari right? So we did. The Animal Kingdom Kilimanjaro Safari is EVERYTHING. We saw elephants, lions, tigers, giraffes and so much more.
The jeep you ride is a bit bumpy and moves fast, so make sure you have your camera ready to go when you try it. It’s truly an amazing experience and not to be missed. My favorite was seeing the lion perched on high watching over his kingdom.
We also got a backstage tour, which is available to all guests for an extra fee.
We have no photos, because it truly is a behind the scenes look at how they care for the animals including nutrition, habitat and more. It is a lot of walking but well worth it.
After the safari, the exit leads you to the conservation station where you can watch doctors observe the animals and find out more about animal care. Bonus, right now there is a Zootopia display where you can see a little about the making of the film.
The rest of the day was ours to do with as we pleased…so I chose what I love…food and rides. I ate at the buffet at Tusker House, which I highly recommend because it is YUM and…. MICKEY!!
My favorite must ride ride? EVEREST. It was so fun, and you have got to try it if you get a chance.
And make sure you checkout Dinoland, a carnival themed Dinosaur lovers dream. Lots of rides for the whole family to enjoy.
Honestly, there is so much more to do, I guess I will just have to go back!
Make sure you check out Zootopia, now in theaters!
