This is a sponsored post with JCPenney.
Every year around this time, I go a little crazy trying to get everything done before my daughter’s first day back at school. Time to schedule doctors visits, hair cuts, get school supplies, get new shoes and clothes AND also try to enjoy the last bit of summer left. I always wished I could just do everything in one shot, and last week, JCPenney gave many families right here in Los Angeles a chance to do that at a very special event at the YMCA- Hollywood.
The event was was a celebration of the national partnership between JCPenney and YMCA and the commitment to help ensure all kids head back to school confident and prepared. From now until Sept. 2, 2016, $1 from every pair of Arizona Jeans sold will go to support the Y. The money will go to fund the Y’s Academic Achievers programs, which helps support academically at-risk students through summer and after-school programs.
At the event in Hollywood, JCPenney gave jean fittings along with Arizona Jeans, backpacks filled with back to school items, makeup tips for teens, haircuts, vision screenings, eyeglass discounts and more. It was so fun watching kids of all ages getting excited to go back to school with a confidence that comes with being in style and on trend. The look of parents when they got to hear about the low prices at JCPenney was awesome too- and one I can relate to!
Vanessa Lachey even stopped by, dressed in some great Arizona gear, and chatted with kids about going back to school and their upcoming school year. The kids adored her, and she was so sweet- making sure to stop for photos with whoever asked.
The outside area of the event was very “Summer Fair” feeling… with cotton candy, hot dogs, hamburgers, and tacos available while music was blasting. Everyone was having a blast and over 400 kids got ready to head back to school. Plus, many more families walked out of there knowing that JCPenney is the best destination for all their back to school needs.
How are you making this back to school season #SoWorthIt?
