Wonder Woman Trailer: It Takes a Woman To Save The World

11/03/2016 by Yolanda Machado

The Wonder Woman trailer is HERE!!!

I have been a long time critic of superhero films, mainly because of how they use (or don’t use, for the most part) their female and minority characters. I mean, COME ON, it’s 2016…we’re overdue. Well, Warner Brothers stepped up to the task and presents it’s first trailer for the 2017 release of Wonder Woman.

YASSSSS QUEEN!!!

When I met Gal Gadot last month, my friends and I blurted out, “We’ve been waiting for a Wonder Woman movie our entire lives!!” which she replied, “so have I.”  And…she is SLAYING it.

Wonder Woman Trailer

Given that Wonder Woman was the best part of Batman vs. Superman (probably the only 7 minutes worth watching, tbh), this trailer not only reminds you of that but, gives you a whole lot more to look forward to as well. Grit, humor, feminism and badassery all around, next summer will definitely up the game of the superhero world by finally, FINALLY…passing the ball to the women.

Wonder Woman is the first truly female led superhero flick because not only is Gal Gadot the star of the film, Patty Jenkins, directs the feature, making it only the 2nd superhero film directed by a woman (the other is Lexi Alexander’s Punisher: War Zone in 2008). Yes, only the 2nd but if all goes well for Wonder Woman, you can guarantee others will take note and we may start seeing a whole lot more where this came from.

The DCEU may be saving itself by, finally, putting a woman in charge. Wonder Woman will be released Summer 2017.
