This is a sponsored post in a partnership with Clorox. All thoughts are my own.
I think we can all agree, 2016 was a trying year for us all. I knew that when 2017 came, I wanted change. Obviously, I want to do bigger things to change the world around me, but change truly begins at home so for me, my big objective was forming a few key habits that would make my home life more streamlined, more pleasant, and oh yea, a hell of a lot cleaner. So I decided to challenge myself for 21 days to stay on task and see how I could make my home look good, smell good… and feel good.
A New Year means new habits. Keeping cleaning simple is a resolution you’ll want to keep. Clorox ® Regular-Bleach can be used to clean, sanitize and disinfect throughout the bathroom and kitchen, to simplify and lighten your cleaning load.
I’ll be honest- I have watched several of these Clorox videos for easy ways to use Clorox to clean the messiest of messes at home. Time savers and easy to do, so you should definitely check it out and try them on your own 21 day challenge.
For me, the biggest issue is that I have pets. I have a lot of pets (3 cats, 1 dog and a turtle so far!), so cleaning is tough cause it seems never ending. But I made a commitment that once a week, I would sanitize the dog crate and pet bowls. You can use Clorox ® Regular-Bleach at home to sanitize their crates, pet bowls and toys. Clorox ® Regular-Bleach kills Parvovirus, a highly contagious doggy disease. Here’s how I did it:
- Disinfect hard non-porous surfaces and accessories with a solution of 1/2 cup product in 1 gallon of water. Pre-wash surfaces, soak or wipe with bleach solution. Allow solution to contact surface for at least 10 minutes to kill parvovirus. Rinse well and air dry.
- To sanitize pet food containers, wash bowls with detergent and rinse. Fill bowls with a solution of 2 tsp of Clorox ® Regular-Bleach 1 per gallon of water. Let stand 2 minutes, drain and air dry.
The first time I did it, I was complaining and really, it took a matter of minutes. I felt silly complaining and then I did it the next two weeks (remember- 21 days!), and now it’s a habit and my pets are better for it too. I’m starting to incorporate more of the Clorox tips in my day to day cleaning, and I gotta say- #CloroxMeansClean!
What tips will you be using this New Year?
