It’s International Women’s Day – a day where the world pauses to reflect on the amazing accomplishments women have contributed to, not only history, but to making the planet a more tolerant, awesome place. One of those women who helped save humanity is the heroine at the heart of THE ZOOKEEPER’S WIFE. In the inspirational, emotionally-stirring film Jessica Chastain plays Antonina Zabinska, a working wife and mother, who, along with her husband, helped to rescue hundreds of Jews during World War II. They provided a safe haven at their Warsaw zoo for those attempting to flee the clutches of the Nazis. Their brave, intelligent and compassionate activism impacted the world in numerous ways which still deeply resonate today.
Ms. Chastain was so taken by her role, that she too took a stand today.

Many women (and men, who love and support them) have lent their voices to the cause and now it’s time for you to do so as well. The #BeBoldForChange campaign is an initiative that’s taking off on Twitter.

Being that this is a crucial time for women’s rights, it’s important to keep sharing these stories of injustice with each other in order to take a stand. That said, this shouldn’t just be about one day of lifting each other up – it should be a lifetime of doing so. This ain’t no Hallmark holiday! It’s about stoking this fire in our bellies for as long as it takes.
The first step is about making a pledge. Go here to learn more and also be inspired to be the change you want to see.
THE ZOOKEEPER’S WIFE opens on March 31.
