I never had a quinceanera. A number of different factors went into my not being able to have one, but at the time, I didn’t mind. I was too busy trying to be an American teenager- with Nirvana and Pearl Jam on my radio, big plaid shirts and crushing on every grunge-skater boy in my neighborhood. By the time I had my own daughter, I realized just how much I missed out- simply because I wanted desperately to blend in. Just days before my 39th birthday, I headed to Santa Barbara to meet up with my friends and celebrate Toyota Camry’s Quince.
My friends are my family, and there is no better way I could think to celebrate not just Camry’s Quince, but my own final year in my 30s. Through it all, my amigas have been my rock. I went through some pretty crazy things in the summer, and they were there for me 100%. I kinda seemed fitting that I got to spend my time with them as we celebrated the Camry- so stylish, so dependable, so full of everything that makes driving easier.
I remember thinking just how lucky I was to have them, right on my drive back from Santa Barbara, and I saw this gorgeous view of the sunrise. The Camry was comfortable, and I had to be somewhere else in a few hours, but I knew I could count on it not just to get me there, but on as low gas as possible (LA–> Santa Barbara—>Anaheim—>LA on one tank of gas!).
Dependability means a lot- in a car, in friends, in everything you need to run a household. I am glad that I have my friends, and I am glad that Camry is the car many families depend on.
Camry is more than a car, it’s the friend you can count on. Feliz Quince!
