The holidays are crazy in Los Angeles. Yes, the weather is still gorgeous (and hot) but our usual terrible traffic becomes even worse, and going out around town to buy everything for your family becomes added stress instead of joy. Unless that is, you get to zip around town in a Toyota C-HR.
I have had a deep love for Toyota for years. I have owned two, and once we get our finances in order, will probably buy this baby right here. Why? Well…
Between all the holiday events, the family pickups, and all the shopping, the C-HR was smooth, comfortable and roomy. As with all holidays as a parent, so much revolves around school and friend activities before the family starts getting together. My daughter and 2 friends got in the back seat, with plenty of comfort and room, while I had at least a dozen grocery bags in the trunk- and could have easily piled on more. Twice I had to pick up my nephews and take them places throughout the city, and we even did two IKEA runs. Now that is roomy.
And the gas mileage was perfect. I didn’t have to fill up once in the week that Toyota loaned me the car. You don’t know just how great this feature is until you are sitting in standstill traffic and notice you’re about to hit EMPTY. The Toyota C-HR has a 27 city/31 highway mpg, which went a long way. That happened to me once, when my daughter was a baby, and I had literally filled up the car 3 days prior. When you have a lot of gifts and groceries to buy, on your way to Noche Buena with your family, it’s a comfort knowing gas won’t drain your wallet.
Also- kinda cool new door handles for the back seats. While they didn’t really change much, I kinda thought they were a cool feature.
Also- I loved driving this car around because it’s just gorgeous. Streamlined, roomy yet small to fit into tight parking spots, it just fits with my lifestyle and the L.A. landscape so easily. Plus my tween daughter was way to happy to show it off to her friends. Always a plus cause at this age, she’s becoming more and more independent, so any moment she wants to give me (even car rides!) I take. But- who can blame her?
The holidays have been a breeze thanks to the Toyota C-HR. Your days with it will be just as breezy… and comfy with it too.
